July 11th - Pasco Board of community
commissioners (BOCC) held a meeting on the
variance to grant the parcel adjacent to
Northwood the ability to build a smaller
foot-print four-story building instead
of the more spread out three story
buildings. The variance was passed, with
condition expected: the builder will
build the road connecting Northwood
Palms Blvd to SR56 prior to any
construction, and no construction
traffic would traverse Northwood Palms
Blvd during construction of buildings.

Because
the HOA & CDD boards would not take on
the responsibility, a little group took
on the task of identifying what the
community felt about the road and
privatizing. Now that we have heard
80% of the community wanting to privatize, we need to get the ball rolling to
identify costs, takeover
plans, responsible governing body (example CDD or HOA).
The HOA &
CDD, as the Northwood's governing bodies
are responsible for safeguarding
property values, and maintaining the
Area (Community District) we all live
in. If it was not apparent before, it is
now. The HOA & CDD have been provided a
mandate on privatization.
We need facts, instead of speculation
(from individuals, CDD, HOA boards and
their lawyers). That process only
begins after
FILING THE PETITION
to privatize, so we hear back from
the county on what is involved.
We need
facts about costs,
reserves, and plans to
present to the community - so the
community can review and decide if they
wish to move forward. Volunteers
by the dozens continue to standup to
assist - The above
FL Statute 336.125 , related items,
and information gathered so far
provides the HOA legal authority
for filing the application.
The
business community around us including
the chamber of commerce are not very
happy that traffic is being diverted
away from the established corridors.
The word is spreading and most do not understand the reasoning in
splitting a peaceful community of young
families up with a high-traffic relief,
or collector road.
