Hello everyone! It’s been a while since you received a Newsletter. The Social Committee is reintroducing the former Newsletter and welcomes all contributions. Please contact a member of the Social Committee with your input.

A special thank you to everyone who addressed the HOA issues (Deed Restrictions and Covenant Violations) applicable to your residence. Northwood is really beginning to shine! Please take a moment to look at your property objectively and compare it to the list of violations mailed out by UPI back in August. Kindly make corrections or contact Jason Nuzzo, at UPI 980-1000, and give him a completion date/brief explanation.

If you are planning to paint your exterior, build an addition or pool, put up fencing, landscape your property, etc. please contact Jason Nuzzo at UPI 908-1000 for a Project Request Form. Remember, all projects must be approved in writing by the Architectural Review Committee prior to beginning your project.

Next meeting of the Social Committee is scheduled for Monday, November 11th, at Angela Nelson’s house, 27323 New Smyrna Drive (Carlyle) at 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in attending a future Social Committee meeting, please check the community bulletin board by the Security Gate for date, time and location. All welcome!

We would like to extend a warm “thank you” to all who responded to the survey, and a “special thank you” to those who have offered to volunteer their time as well as those who are already volunteering. Thanks to your input, we have already implemented a few of the activities requested and are now busy planning the social calendar for 2003. We are very excited about the upcoming activities and are looking forward to seeing you at future social events.

October 31^st – 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. Halloween Costume Parade – Prizes, Candy and Pizza Party!!

November 2^nd – 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Northwood Community Wide Yard Sale. Please donate the proceeds from one item to the Social Committee Fund. Please make contributions payable by check to Northwood HOA, note on check that it is for the Social Committee Fund and mail it to UPI, Attention: Jason Nuzzo, 7001 Temple Terrace Highway, Temple Terrace, FL 33637. Thank you in advance for your contribution.

December 1, 8, and 15^th – 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. – Holiday Caroling Practice for adults and children – Angela Nelson’s house at 27323 New Smyrna Dr. – Pizza and Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP Angela Nelson at 907-7372 that you will be participating.

December 7^th – 7:00 – 10:30 p.m. – Adults Only Holiday Get-together. To Be Announced (TBA).

December 13^th – 7:30 p.m. - Holiday Cookie Exchange - location to be determined. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP by calling Jacquie Brethen, at 973-8248, by December 1^st.

December 14^th – 4:00 p.m. - Afternoon with Santa at pool. Candy and Pictures with Santa.

Walking Club - Meets at the corner of Northwood Palms Blvd. and Coral Springs Drive, Monday and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 8:00 a.m. for a 2.1 mile walk through our community. Come walk with us!!

Coffee Club – Note changes: Every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., at Panera’s in Highwood Preserve (Dutch Treat). Come and meet your neighbors!!!

Bowling Night – The First Friday of every month, November 1^st and December 6^th. At 9:00 pm, AMF University Lanes, 13109 N 56^th Street, (813) 985-4468. Ask at the bowling alley reception desk for the Northwood lanes.
